Littering/Pollution:
Littering is when someone leaves rubbish or a number of objects lying in an area.
Lots of people litter all over the world. It is a really bad habbit we have that is getting worst day by day. When people litter on our beaches the wind can blow them into the ocean. When trash ends up in the ocean it becomes a hazard to our beautiful sea creatures. Some sea creature might mistaken the trash as food and eat them. The creatures that eat them are most likely to die because of all the toxins in the trash. There is also a term used called "Ghost Fishing" , Ghost Fishing is when a sea creature is found dead in abandoned fishing nets. They can also be found in plastics or any garbage in the ocean.
There is something called a "Garbage Patch". Garbage Patches are large bodies of trash in the ocean. The largest garbage patches are in the Pacific Ocean the Western & Eastern Pacific Garbage Patches also called the "Great Pacific Garbage Patches". The Eastern Garbage Patch runs threw Hawaii & California. Scientists have estimated its size & according to LA.Times it is two times bigger than Texas. The Western Garbage Patch is East of Japan & West of Hawaii. Each swirl is massive & collect lots of trash all over the world. They are connected by the Subtropical Convergance Zone which is a thin 600,000 long currnet.
